Dr Alexander W. Copper PhD. Podiatrist

foot xray Alex graduated with his initial Podiatry qualification from the University of South Australia in 1991. Since then he has been constantly studying to satisfy his desire for knowledge and therefore provide you with the best care possible. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Podiatry), Graduate Diploma in Podiatry, Master of Podiatry (biomechanics research) and a PhD.

While studying for his master’s degree, he participated in several research studies investigating Biomechanics of the lower limbs and the effects of different styles of footwear. Two of these studies have been published in the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association.

In 2021 Alex completed his PhD at the University of Adelaide. One of his studies involved an investigation into lower limb injuries and the types of safety footwear worn in the Australian wine industry. This study has now been published in the Journal of Foot and Ankle Research. He is currently working with the Centre for Orthopaedic and Trauma Research at the Adelaide University Medical School to continue this work on safety footwear and lower limb injury prevention.

He also has a wide range of experience and has worked as a Clinical Tutor at the University of South Australia, various multidisciplinary clinics in Adelaide, Hobart and Sydney, the Australian Defence Force and the Wine Industry in Europe and Australia.

 

Special Interests
